U-Battery - Local Modular Energy

U-Battery milestones reached in the UK and Canada
22 February

U-Battery is continuing to make progress on UK and Canadian soil.

In January a commercial and technological feasibility study was submitted to the UK Government as part of its Advanced Modular Reactor Programme.

A recent application has also been made to participate in Canadian Nuclear Laboratories’ (CNL) invitation to site a Small Modular Reactor (SMR) demonstration unit at one of their managed campuses. U-Battery submitted its pre-qualification package earlier this month.

U-Battery will be hosting a booth (302) at the 2019 CNA Conference in Ottawa from 27 February to 1 March to explain more about the micro-modular nuclear reactor’s design and proposed application.

U-Battery is poised to play an important role in the UK and Canada’s low-carbon sustainable energy economy, to ensure reliable, cost-effective heat and power off-grid for industrial and remote communities. The development and commercialisation of U-Battery’s 10 MWt/4MWe high-temperature gas reactors have the potential to drive significant regional economic benefits across the UK and Canada.
