U-Battery supportive of federal government’s renewed commitment to climate action through clean energy funding

23 April 2021

This week, the Government of Canada tabled its first budget since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, allocating considerable funding for various clean energy centric initiatives that align favourably with our objectives.

The budget includes an increase of $5 billion in funding over seven years for the Strategic Innovation Fund’s Net Zero Accelerator, and we are hopeful that SMRs like ours can benefit from this programme.

U-Battery will continue engaging the Canadian government to ensure that its commitment to the nuclear energy sector remains strong and that SMRs can play a key role in Canada’s economic recovery efforts as well as in the country’s fight to mitigate climate change.
